Flooring Installer

Flooring installers install, replace and repair all types of carpets, plastic laminates, and other decorative coverings in residential, commercial and industrial buildings and structures. Floorcoverers use manual and power tools to measure, hammer, cut and shear, spread and stretch, and prepare floors.

Plumber

Plumbers assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, medical gas systems, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water according to specifications and plumbing codes. They locate and mark the position of pipe, pipe connections, and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors using ruler, spirit level, and plumb bob. They cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand tools and a threading machine. Plumbers also bend pipe using a pipe-bending machine or by placing pipe over a block and bending it by hand; assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of various metals or glass, vitrified clay, and plastic; and use hand tools and power tools. Plumbers may weld holding fixtures to structures.

Tile Worker

Tile and Terrazzo are finish trades. This means that they are some of the last parts of a construction projects to be completed. Setting tile and terrazzo involves making sure the surfaces are properly prepared, including walls, floors, showers, tub surrounds, countertops, stairs and sometimes the exterior of structures. Tile and terrazzo can be installed in homes or commercial structures. This trade involves meticulous installation of ceramic, marble and granite tiles. The work is done by hand and requires a high attention to detail. Designs are often creative and visually appealing. Terrazzo is similar to tile in that it is a finish, but instead of tiles, the decorative surface could be made of sand, cement, pigment or marble chips.

Welder

Industrial welders (Cutters, Solderers, and Brazers) or maintenance welders join metal components of products, such as automobiles, boilers, ships, aircraft, and mobile homes. They accomplish this with specified layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, welding procedures, or oral instructions, using electric arc-welding equipment. Welders connect cables from welding units to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse. They may clean or degrease weld joints or work pieces, repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and operate other machine shop equipment to prepare components for welding.

HVAC Technician

HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) combines sheet metal and electrical work involving installation, wiring, service, and repair of environmental control systems and the fabrication and installation of ductwork.
